Stayed on board overnight so saw the arrival of the crane the evening before in readiness for the big lift out.
Thanks to all at Almermaston Wharf boatyard and especially Dave and Tom, friendly, obliging and cheerful at all times.
The crane arrives..
Next morning, the lifting starts.
Archimedes and Ara heading back to London by lorry.
Small Woolwich Ara comes out first
The lorry driver had a magnetic flashing light set to attach to overhanging loads, no luck with this one though, it is made of wood.
Then it was Archimedes turn.
Moved by Ray Bowern Boat transport the driver claimed that the tractor unit had done over a million miles.
That deep swim is why they need the middle of the cut.
We eats us snap
Now its Cribbit's turn. The crane is radio controlled.
