Cribblog 2017

   May Marsh Benham.

Got back to Cribbit after two weeks to find my warps all awry and obviously re-tied. Closer inspection revealed a sorry tale, the stern, doubled up, pins had been ripped from the ground leaving a large hole and the gangplank and its pin stored on the roof. The oak peg used to secure the plank had been snapped off. Clearly someone had come past very fast to cause so much mayhem.

Set to to a bit of magnet fishing and was able to retrieve one pin, the thick one, but no luck recovering the other.

One big hole where there used to be two big pins. One recovered with the magnet.

Someone had kindly re-pinned the warp.

Bow fixing still OK.

Smashed oak plank peg.

Copse Lock.

Doubled up with Hawk Owl for the next two locks.

They left me at Marsh Benham lock and I pulled over to moor almost exactly where I had the year before with Joyce and Bruce.

Even more shallow here so gang planks barely long enough.

Even worse in the bow with the bow plank at water level and not on the bank at all.

And so back to renovation work, removing the galley floor covering and the whole floor under the sink.

Then the rest of the floor covering in the shower as well.
