 Break in ... Planning visit.

Been a bit involved with all the co-lateral damage of moving house so have only just been able to get over to Aldermaston to see Tom about winter welding work and to have a go at some jobs I needed to do on board.

Things didn't quite work out as planned as discovered that there had been a break-in at the boatyard with four boats broken into including Cribbit. From the cctv it was done by three lads wearing hoodies, so hard to identify. They smashed the bow window on cribbit with a piece of paving slab. They had also had a go at getting in from the stern but this was beyond them...hardly surprising as there is no way to get in from there.

Bit of a mess inside, they had obviously gone through all my clothes looking for money but were as sadly disappointed as I always am. Didn't even take the booze. So no burglar NVQ for them, actually, they get a big fat fail on that front as even I know that NVQ accreditited burglars open drawers from the bottom up and leave them open whereas this lot had closed them all afterwards. I can only surmise that they must all have very good mummies who have taught them their domestic tasks well. Just why all my trousers were in the sink i don't know.

Decided not to spend the night as still no drains connected but mainly because of the draught and flapping from the window which would not have been condusive to restful repose even after application of non-stolen alchohol.

Fairynuff unscathed but mum's little toby jug was smashed to bits by their clod hopping feet as they came through the window.
