Decided that I would change my approach to these Sunshine Walks, instead of waiting until the end of the month I'm going to [try] to do a few pics most times that I go out. I seem unable to stick to the 'official' route [Jeremy's clogs leading me astray] so it might just be a little more comprehensible if I post by date.
I had intended to start the month on the 'standard' walk but I had been thinking about the site of the post war pre-fab buildings and somehow my clogs drew me there instead.
I am told that they were not 'prefabs' as understood by the standard post war emergency housing usually called that way but wooden 'chalets' removed from the American wartime bases above the town.
Apparently, one of them was set up as a shop and run by a person who soon became known locally as 'Mrs Tesco'
To-day's route started by my going West out of my front door full of good intentions, but my clogs thought otherwise and I found myself diverting almost immediately to go up Sun Lane [named for the pub that used to be at its end on Duke Street], then up to the top of the ridge and heading in a westerly direction more or less parallel to the tramroad and Victoria Road but above both coming out at the roundabout which is where the remains of the prefabs can be found.
So much for good intentions, about more walks, but in fact I spent the rest of the month on my knees tiling in the kitchen and hardly was able to raise my head let alone go for a walk. The pics that follow show some of the 'other' things happening in march.
